Outreach Ministry at Shepherd of the Heart: Acts of Kindness
Supporting the Needs of People in Our Community.
Outreach ministries at Shepherd of the Heart have two primary areas of focus: the people of our surrounding communities, and people outside of our community or nation, through missions work. Kindness in Action Ministries support the needs of people in Pearland and the surrounding area. There are many opportunities to serve God through these ministries.
At Shepherd of the Heart, we support the compassionate, who recognize the needs of others and desire to meet those needs through practical acts of Christian love. We ask for your prayers as we fulfill our visions in Christian outreach ministries.

SOTH PRAYER MINISTRY
Philippians 4:6
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
At Shepherd of the Heart we want to create opportunities to grow in our prayer lives. Our vision is for every person to have an intimate relationship with God through spending time speaking, as well as listening to Him. We also have a desire to not only be a church with a prayer ministry, but a praying church with a passion to transform lives through prayer.
SOTH also reaches out for opportunities to gather as a body of believers to pray together, through special prayer celebrations, and events. You are encouraged to join us, pray with us and experience God’s presence.
Small Group Fellowship at Shepherd of the Heart
Growing in faith through mutual support and encouragement.
Fellowship groups at Shepherd of the Heart offer many opportunities for spiritual support, enrichment, and guidance, as well as time to socialize with one another and to form true friendships with other believers.
God has blessed us with believers of all ages who are devoting themselves to service through small group instruction and fellowship. All are welcome to participate in our fellowship groups. Newcomers who are not familiar with scripture are also encouraged to fellowship in a small group setting.
Individuals who host and lead our group discussions serve to illuminate the teachings of Scripture, and to offer gentle support and guidance to their fellow believers. Small groups at Shepherd of the Heart include groups for women, men, 20s and 30s, and for mixed groups.
Small group discussions allow us to uncover the commonalities we share with the people of Biblical times, and to learn the truths and lessons contained in the Bible. In understanding God's word, through prayer, and by sharing our lives in mutual support with other believers, we seek to reach a deeper and clearer understanding of God, and of the purpose He has for us.
Current activities in Small Group Fellowship:
Five life groups are being offered this session [May-August]. Four are spiritually based with social opportunities offering lively discussions for applying and growing faith in our daily lives. Three are primarily social with opportunities for spiritual discussion and exploration.
JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE
Facilitators: Jason Johnson and Tom Belsha
As the name implies, this is a bible study group that journeys through the bible from beginning to end in chronological order. The level of detail studied varies from book to book. Some lessons cover a complete book, while other times several lessons are on the same book. Lessons are often a multimedia experience, using computer graphics, movies, virtual tours, and maps to enhance our understanding and knowledge of the bible. Currently, we’re watching a wonderful word for word (NIV) reenactment movie of the Book of Romans.
This group is a great choice for anyone interested in learning more about the bible. The group is for singles and married couples in their 20’s or in their 70’s, without kids or with grand kids. Childcare is provided. The group goes to lunch together about every 6 weeks.
